Post 2

We often get asked what we do differently to protect young individuals who need support:

➡️We keep our young people at the centre of what we do.

➡️We provide excellent care and support, and we involve our young people and staff in decision making.

➡️We believe that everyone has a voice, and it’s important to hear feedback from individuals, families and staff.

➡️The management team has a strong presence in the home and are available for young people, staff, and the wider network.

➡️We work with openness and transparency between managers, staff, young people, and external professionals.

➡️Staff have a robust induction and mandatory training plans; we provide additional training and encourage professional development.

➡️We have monthly team meetings where we incorporate discussions around young people, best practices and discuss relevant topics each month.

➡️We are regulated by Ofsted and have a monthly visit to ensure we are compliant with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.

➡️Under the Equality Act 2010, we ensure that our young people and staff are not discriminated against based on protected characteristics, such as their gender, ethnicity, religion, or gender identity.

We are here to support the needs of young individuals so that they can have the brighter future that they deserve 💚

Post 3

Recent reports from the Child Safeguarding Practice  have shown how disabled children with a complex mix of autism and health needs can be kept behind closed doors, often in placements far from their families, with little concern for their quality of life or futures.

This upsets us deeply because we do not believe in working within closed cultures, as this does not improve the skills needed for a bright future.

Our mission is to help young individuals be able to live a life where they feel safe, supported and comfortable, as well as build trust with families of disabled children, so they feel supported too. 💚

Post 4

We aim to encourage young individuals to “never give up” and we practice that too.

🌿 At Willow Tree Group, we will never give up on a young individual. We ensure to go the extra mile to meet the challenges of daily life consistently and thoughtfully because we believe that every young person has the chance to make a difference in their future.

Young people are our future, and we are proud to be part of their story! 💚

Post 5

🌿 We have specialist provisions to accommodate and support unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people who are making a claim for asylum, and who have no adult relative or guardian to care for them in this country, in Berkshire and Cheltenham.

We work closely with the local asylum seeker network and refugee support services enabling users to engage with community groups and resources with our diverse and bilingual workforce ensuring that these young people settle in quickly.

We support unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people to gain the skills necessary to move towards independence as their long-term settlement status is determined.

We believe that everyone has a chance to improve their future, no matter where they come from, whether that is for safety, skills or through a healing journey and we strive to help as many young individuals as possible! 💚

🌿 Meet Debbie our Service Manager for Willow Tree Support Services, who oversees the day-to-day running of our semi-independent supported living accommodation options for young people.

Debbie has experience working with children and young people in residential settings.

She has supported children and young people to develop towards independence. Debbie has supported individuals with mental health needs, EBD, PTSD, ASD, ADHD, eating disorders and complex behaviours.

We are proud to have Debbie as part of Willow Tree Group and we are so very grateful for her service in helping the day-to-day running of our operations. 💚
